Gold
Gold has always been considered the most precious of metals. As such it was frequently chosen by all religions to represent divinity or the highest and most noble subjects like angels, God’s messengers and the Egyptian sun god, Ra. In a living world where God appears in everything, what could be more appropriate than surrounding the subject with sumptuous 23 karat gold? In this series, subjects from nature are vividly portrayed against a background of solid gold leaf, applied by hand in the traditional manner.
