Old Cairo

   Egypt’s capital city of Cairo is home to some of the finest Islamic architectural masterpieces in the world. With their intimate courtyards, richly carved domes, or vast sacred spaces, there is an infinite range of superb architectural detail and sacred nuance readily available to satiate our artistic and spiritual appetites. The majesty and wealth of these buildings is at once majestic and filled with humility, and these aspects are all being explored in this new series both in careful watercolor architectural studies, and in classical views or more atmospheric visions of specific aspects of their peculiar natures painted in acrylic.
